The Humanitarian Soliders of Almeria
A group of humanitarian soldiers have returned to Almeria after being in Afghanistan for the last four months. 425 Spanish soldiers have been helping the United Nations in their efforts to stabilise the ongoing situations in Afghanistan. Only 140 of the soldiers returned this week, with the rest due to return in the next few weeks. They will be replaced by 270 parachutists who will be leaving for Afghanistan soon.
The humanitarian soldiers were met by overjoyed family and friends who had been looking forward to seeing their kin. The squad were happy to be back, but also happy with their efforts in war-torn Afghanistan. They had been helping the UN to build new roads in the area, as well as new hospitals and care centres. Several infrastructure projects are going ahead in the country and many buildings have been repaired. The group of soldiers also helped the local police and army in Afghanistan, coming up with airport security issues.
